Make the Most of Your Time-Outs

When to take a time-out in a match is quite subjective but in my own experience, it was better not to always wait until the last game to take the time-out. For instance, if you are leading in the first game by a few points and the opponent is coming back by making few points in a row, you should consider taking the time-out. You need to break the rhythm and don’t forget that wining the first set is usually the most important one in the match. Also, use the full minute of the time-out. Sometimes, some players just rush back to continue the game. You need to make the most out of it. During the time-out, do not think about the shots you missed. You need to refocus by thinking about the strategy against that opponent. But at first, take a few seconds to take a deep breath to calm down and then start visualizing the strategy.
