Practice and Power

When you go to practice, make sure that you make the most of your time. When you are doing a drill, it’s easy to daydream and not really concentrate while you’re practicing. But, if you want to get better, you need to be focused on at least one thing that you are doing. For example, if you are doing a certain drill, concentrate on your footwork to make sure that you aren’t wasting any motion, or improve your stroke in some way. If you aren’t focusing on at least one thing that you are working on, there is no way that you can get better.

Be careful when you play, not to go too hard. It usually isn’t in your best interests to try and overpower the other player and go through him. If you can place the ball, it is much better than trying to drive the ball. When you place the ball well, it will set you up for another shot that you can go harder on, or you can keep placing the ball until you get a really easy one to put away.
