When to be Passive
Jackie Lee

When a ball is considerably out of your comfort range, what do you do? From observation, I would say that many players try to overpower the ball back onto the table, even though they are very unlikely to land the shot. Instead of this, it would be better if you just passively got the ball back on the table. Every shot that lands on your opponent’s side forces your opponent to have to hit another shot. This increases their chance of missing or making a mistake, and your chance of winning the point.
