When a ball is considerably outside of a player’s comfortable range, what do they do? From observation, I would say that many players tend to force themselves to overpower the ball back onto the table even though they are far from landing this shot. Instead of this approach, it might be easier if you just passively get the shot back on the table. Every shot that lands on your opponent’s side makes your opponent have to hit an extra shot. Therefore, this increases their chances of missing and making a mistake.
