Tournament Tips Idan Levi 5/11/2005- Preparation—always be at the hall an hour before your match to get a good warm up off the table. Make sure to take adequate time to get a good glue job so you can be ready to play at match time.
- Service—today, with the new rules, it’s so important to do the proper service training (at least one hour per week), so you don’t give free points away that will determine the winner.
- Trying too hard—sometimes we try so hard that we don’t give our opponent a chance to make a mistake. It is like we are making mistakes for both sides of the table. It is very important to be relaxed and breath easy. This will allow you to play your optimum by playing your normal game.
- Do not try new rackets or new equipment right before a tournament. Spend that extra time working on your game.
- When you lose, begin to take responsibility and learn, so you can improve and become a better player. Don’t blame the net, edge, or bad luck for your loss.
